I'm coming up for air for the first time this week...so sorry friends. It's been a beautifully productive, engaging, and overall.... gorgeous week.
In project news:
-My beanie hat project is over. It was ugly. It was stiff. Perhaps cotton was not the best choice for this project? After I started decreasing, the hat started to look like a chefs cap. Yuck! Now all I have is a ball of yarn. Any ideas for this?
-I lost an anemoi mitten 2 weeks ago and it hasn't popped up again. (Sob) It was last seen as I exited my car and headed to the ICA for the Shadow Craft fair. Secretly I am glad cause that means I get to make another one!! haha! But sad cause...well...because lost mittens are often lost causes.
-Otis and I visited with his family last week and his niece had gotten a cute little "friendship bracelet" book. I LOVED making friendship bracelets as a kid (and pot holders, and rugs, and gimp key chains, and beaded necklaces). I pretty much taught myself how to make the bracelets and since the internet wasn't around back then, I couldn't look up how to make that extra special chevron pattern. Well, the elusive technique was featured in this book and well - I just couldn't help myself:
In other news:
-I want to publicly say THANK YOU! to Ken and Mike at Treehugger and Grace Bonney at Design*Sponge. You guys were a big help these past few weeks!
If anyone hasn't checked out these two cool sites - well - get on over there!
-I just updated my flickr page. check 'er out.
