This past weekend was a blast.
The music was great but I think the real highlight for me was seeing a cute little lamb being shorn for the first time! It was so cool to observe the process...I know that at some point in my childhood I had seen fleece sheering before, but now, as an avid knitter, it meant a lot more.
I must have had "I'm a knitter- therefore, a sucker for all things woolen!" stamped on my forehead while I was there. When I went to check out the little old lady who was spinning next to the lambs I promptly dropped $26 on yarn. (Hey - it was hand died and skien was hand spun right there in the field. Can you blame me?)
Here is the brown handspun:
Yes- I know that this photo is very blurry, but I think you get the idea and I really couldn't stand to take another photo of this stuff. EVERY SINGLE SHOT came out all fuzzy. gah! (I am buying a camera on wednesday. I can't take this anymore.)
On Sunday I wandered over to the Art Star Craft Bazaar. There is a great recap over at Leya's blog
I get such a kick out of seeing so many talented people in one place! So cool. so inspiring!
I found some very shmancy markers for knitting made by the ever talented Woolarina.
I can't wait to start my next project. Too bad I don't have anymore babies to knit for cause these booties are calling my name!!!!
How stinkin' cute!
