Just a few from my travels...

Check out these jumpers.  They are traditional eskimo summer dresses.  When you're in Alaska (or far eastern russia) you'll see many many women sporting them. These are a rather new addition to their culture, brought by missionaries from hawaii of all places.

They are fabulous and often adorned with bits of ric rac.

All along the highways they had these little carts that would serve limoncello made from those big lemons! So cool.

Stripes appear in the most lovely places...

I love these pot holders.  My Mom made them for me when I moved into my first apartment.  And I would be lost without our kitchen towels from Williams Sonoma. These actually DRY dishes....not wipe around the water...

I've posted about my plaid pillows before, but check out the latest addition to our sofa.  I picked up this textile piece in Chile.  It was made by women up in the mountains...I'm hoping to share more about them soon...

The irony was not lost upon me as I sipped margaritas with miss curiousbird herself last night, in the pinkest restaurant I have ever stepped foot in....

So...I'm kind hot and heavy for yellow.  I mean...our entire wedding was practically yellow.  I wore yellow shoes people!  Love. this. color.  And clearly, I have a ton of it around the house.

When Leya mentioned that she was planning on hosting a week of color, I jumped at the chance to participate.  It’s such a great exercise…I love looking around my everyday, seeking out colors that I otherwise wouldn’t have paid a second glance at.

And when Otis said to me this weekend…”you haven’t taken a photo in FOREVER” I knew it was time to take off the lens cap.

After a whirlwind wedding and whirlwind summer traveling to all corners of the Earth (quite literally) in recent weeks I had put my Nikon down.  Hell…I even went to New Orleans and didn’t take a single photo!!  Not my usual MO.

Regardless, I’ve seemed to lost my blogging mojo over the past year.  Which is ok, in my book.  This is the one place where I can be creative without obligation…but I miss sharing in this little neck of the woods.

I'm planning on posting twice a day this week (WHOA!)  One post observing the colors around me in the present, and one post sharing some of the beautiful colors I saw while working for your favorite travel centric cable network for the second half of 2008…Anyhoo…

Blue.  How ‘bout it? 

It’s truly one of my favorite colors.  I would paint every room in our house blue…and right now our second floor is a blue haven…check it out.
